“Stretch marks are a badge of honor for moms” - I know you’ve heard this before, I certainly have, and frankly, I’m sick of it. Don’t get me wrong, I applaud the women who wear their marks with pride, and are not embarrassed to show them off in a bikini or low-slung jeans, but I would rather display my pride in other ways. During my pregnancy, I used cocoa and shea butter on my belly religiously and I thought I was home free when I hit 34 weeks with nary a mark. But, just when I thought I was out of the woods, I saw, surely enough, shiny red marks creeping up my belly, and it happened practically overnight! After looking at a number of products in the market to help smooth my scarred belly, I found that:
1. The conventional mainstream stretch mark oils/lotions were full of toxic ingredients that I did not care to expose myself, or my newborn to (I was breastfeeding at the time). Also, many of them contained mineral oil as the primary ingredient, which is nothing but a cheap filler to drive down price points.
2. The natural products just did not seem to be potent enough or contain strong concentrations of therapeutic, skin repairing ingredients.
And that is how Avishi’s Intensive Repair Oil came about. After months of research and development, consultations with chemists, and experimentation on my friends and myself, the end result is a formula that is chock-a-block full of pure botanical extracts that are safe for the expecting and/or nursing mom, and renowned for their powerful skin-cell regenerating ingredients such as:
Rosehip Seed Oil and Helichrysum Italicum Essential oil - Help improve skin elasticity, regenerate skin cells and reduce scarring
Seabuckthorn Oil - restores damaged skin with high concentrations of vitamins A, C and E, carotenoids, flavonoids and essential fatty acids
Tamanu Oil - soothes the skin, and helps relieve irritations and inflammation
Borage seed oil - one of the richest known sources of Gamma Linolenic Acid (an essential fatty acid) restores moisture and smoothness, and helps accelerate the healing process
Gotu Kola - an ancient chinese and ayurvedic remedy to rejuvenate and nurture skin and its underlying connective tissues, helps rejuvenate and strengthen skin tissues
Macadamia Nut Oil - a rich source of palmitoleic acid. It is a strong anti-oxidant and protects the skin just like human sebum does, also allowing it to deeply-penetrate and hydrate skin
Of course, I have a vested interest in claiming that Avishi’s intensive repair oil works. But, it has worked for me, and I believe it will for you. And while my stretch marks may have not completely disappeared (And I do not believe anything can get rid of stretch marks entirely), my belly no longer looks like a tiger clawed at it! I have a reduction of about 80% in the appearance of my stretch marks, and I can wear low slung jeans with confidence, that is until…uh…some post-pregnancy weight issues are resolved!
